Develop Your Existing Website with a Plan
January 16, 2008
Many people who pay for web design services usually go into the process of having a website built without a plan.
Building an online business is no different than building a physical business. Any good business much like any good website needs a plan. Most web designers forget this when it comes to building websites for their customers.
It is my goal at PureWebAnalytics to give website owners the option to have a plan of where they want to go when it comes to developing their web property over time, supporting the testing of new initiatives and furthering development of web based business.
Do you need a plan when it comes to your website?

All You Need is Web Analytics!
December 30, 2007
As this year comes to an end and I’ll be out celebrating like pretty much everyone else I wanted to leave one more post for the end of 2007. Web Analytics and Intelligence is still in its humble beginnings and while some major developments in the next year are bound to happen, the field itself is sure to develop standards, further enhances to how people view web analytics as a key component to web development as a whole and how to further understand customer behavior.
If you are new to web analytics then I’d suggest you check out Google Analytics, install it and learn how to integrate it into your site. Even if you run a fairly small site you can still benefit from understanding your traffic and the heights to which you’d like to one day take your website.
I’ve been reading Avinish’s book lately entitled “Web Analytics: An Hour A Day” which is just a fascinating read. If you are a marketer, web designer, CEO or anyone simply interested in the internet and websites then this is a great book to read and I would highly suggest it. I’ve even been able to add Avinash Kaushik to my facebook account. You have to love where technology is taking us when I can talk to an author about his book online and he actually responds! I’d also suggest checking out his blog as well.
In structuring the content for my site over the past couple of months I realize that I’ve switched gears by offering a base foundation of information about Web Analytics using Google Analytics as a teaching tool and I only hope that you’ve found it helpful so far. I am looking forward to producing more content specific to the areas of Web Analytics, Website Optimization, Web Intelligence and a few other key areas in the New Year. See you in the New Year!

PureWebAnalytics has been Re-Designed
September 17, 2007
Its official, the new look of PureWebAnalytics is here. We’ve been working out the kinks (…and no I am not just talking about myself I actually have skilled people working with me who are kinky…) and are almost finished up. Many of you who’ve visited the website over the past nine months may have noticed the standard “Blog” look of the site. I’ve wanted to move away from that ever since the spring of 2007 and now it is becoming a reality. My criteria for the re-design of the website was simple…
Move away from PureWebAnalytics as a “Blog” and move towards having PureWebAnalytics as a growing business.
You may notice the email newsletter signup, the contact information at the top of the page, the link to the testimonials page and I’ve got more planned in the coming months to educate people and draw new business to PureWebAnalytics as those goals of the site and business have not changed. So what do you think of the new and improved PureWebAnalytics? Does it still kind of look the same? Do you like the old site better? Insert funny joke hereJ. I look forward to seeing you back here in the coming months and years.

Redesigning A Website With Email Marketing In Mind
August 27, 2007
I am all for technology related to email marketing. Over the last few weeks I’ve been getting a design ready for PureWebAnalytics as I begin to take the site and business in a new direction. I’ve spent a little time figuring out what CMS architecture I wanted to build my site on because when I first started PureWebAnalytics, in January 2007, WordPress was a simple choice. Now, 8 months later, I have decided to stay with WordPress because of the amount of plugins and developers that know the architecture that runs the site it would be a bad idea to go to a lesser piece of software to run my site. Perhaps you’ve run into this when renovating your website or maybe you never thought about it but if you are building a business naturally you need to think about the systems behind the business.
For online businesses one of these systems is email marketing. I know that I’ve talked about it in the past on PureWebAnalytics but email marketing if you do it correctly is one way to building ongoing relationships with people interested in your service or products. So many companies have the ability to send and create email marketing campaigns and yet they don’t. One component behind the new PureWebAnalytics is a newsletter capture feature that will allow me to build lists, run promotions and build a bigger list in the long run and keeping people loyal to the PureWebAnalytics name. As I get closer to the release of the new site the articles will pick up on here again. I cannot believe its been 20 days since I posted an article on here.

New Things Going On At PureWebAnalytics
July 23, 2007
Lately I’ve been redesigning a site for my business, PureWebAnalytics, and I am just getting ready to launch the site in the next month (or thereabouts). I find that whenever I redesign a site for myself I need to meet clear objectives like “What do I want people reading or viewing this site to do?” “Where do I want the people visiting my site to go?” “Are the pages clear and concise?” and about a million other questions other than “Will the site work properly in Internet Explorer?”
I’ve asked a few of my clients for their Testimonials or “Kudos” as I like to call them to gauge the experience that future clients can expect from working with PureWebAnalytics. Thanks for providing that Eric and Steve (You know who you are ;)).
I always stress the overall goal of a site or a landing page when I think about designing it. For PureWebAnalytics, the goal remains two-fold. The first goal is portraying the face of the business and Two, a source of free information for general visitors and enthusiasts to PureWebAnalytics. Feel free to have a look at the website as it currently looks (It’ll be changing in the next month even more so).
